Shiraz Gin is back baby. Once again our great neighbour and good friend, Mark Roth has delivered premium single vineyard Shiraz which we've soaked in our splendidly spiced gin spirit, then intently squeezed, pressed and pummelled to extract every ounce of shirazzy ginny goodness.
Colour - Deep rich ruby red
Aroma - Jammy sweetness, with blackcurrant
Flavour - Shiraz, spice all things.... you know. Dark berries and blackcurrant pastille.
Drinking - Simple = poured over ice for a flavour bomb. Thinking something longer - sure - Blood Orange Soda, or Seville Lemon Soda for some fizz and citrus contrast.
Production - For the second time around, Marni has taken the wheel on the Shiraz Gin and has nursed the grapes from harvest, through maceration and then used a remarkable amount of muscle to liberate gin and juice from the grapes. This is a perfect example of great effort delivering great reward. You'll notice the new label - Maria once again has deployed her graphics chops and delivered a gorgeous bottle that will standout on any bar.
Limited Release - A little lower than last year - 668 bottles - once again, when its gone - we wait till next harvest.
